Human Tables — entertainment for corporate events

Human Tables is a reception act in which the artist and the furniture are the same thing. The performer stands at the centre of an enormous skirt that works as a table, carrying canapés, chocolates or glasses. Instead of an anonymous buffet, guests approach a character who looks at them, talks to them and offers the tray: service becomes performance.

The characters

There are several figures depending on the tone of the event. The Victorian lady; the champagne lady, with a golden brocade skirt from which glasses of cava emerge; a Marilyn in a white dress; or a woman wrapped in a striking red gown. Each one can carry canapés or drinks matched to the theme, colours and design of the party, so the table fits the room instead of competing with it.

When to programme them

Their natural slot is the cocktail, the welcome or the meal: when guests are standing, moving and looking for someone to talk to. They work especially well in the first minutes, because they break the ice with no microphone or stage, and because they give photographers a strong image before the programme starts.
